這首歌主要是在說Troye在錄製專輯blue neighbor時的戀情，他非常後悔自己讓音樂事業上的成功對自己的感情方面造成負面的摩擦

歌詞中into the blue就是上面說的blue neighbor，以及the world sang along...那句也是在說，當他寫了一首不斷說著自己的男友有多完美，而全世界的人都在唱這首歌時，他與愛人的感情卻逐漸分裂
